Community Guidelines

We want you to be able to find and connect with like-minded and interesting people. However, both your and other people’s safety is very important to us.

We strongly urge you to review the following guidelines in the interest of personal safety and well-being.

These guidelines also outline our expectations of how you treat others as well.

We’re fun lovin’ people, but we do take this stuff very seriously.

Here are our guidelines that we expect from you while using Zinger as well as recommendations for staying safe in an online setting.

  • Do not target other users or bully them. This includes harassing, threatening, stalking, abusing and defaming someone online.

  • Do not share your personal information such as your home address and credit card details with people you have not met.

  • Do not share other people’s addresses, social media accounts, phone numbers, personal information or any other content about someone that is obscene or offensive.

  • Never respond to someone asking you to send money, particularly overseas.

  • Do not post spam or repetitive content.

  • Report and block suspicious users immediately.

  • Do not post offensive content, whether that is in the form of text, links, photos or video. This includes gore, nudity and generally offensive material. We employ both automated and manual moderation. Please also report users that post offensive content.

We want you to meet like-minded people in person as well. Zinger can help you do this, however, here are some recommendations to help stay safe in an offline setting.

  • Make sure you get to know someone first on the app before you meet them in person. Do your homework and research before you decide to meet.

  • Always meet in a public place and stay in a public place. Do not agree to meet at someone’s house or in private.

  • Take your own transport to and from the meeting. Do not rely on the person you are meeting to pick you up or drop you home.

  • Make sure you have told other friends and family members of your plans when you are meeting someone for the first time.

  • Always stay sober and drug-free when meeting for the first time so that your judgement is not impaired.
